Copper Cookware
Do you think that copper cookware gives food a funny taste?
I have some new copper cookware but everytime I have used it I have noticed a funny metalic taste to my food and I am wondering if it is coming from the pots and pans.
It might need to be re-tinned, but it shouldn’t if it’s new. It’s difficult to find a place to do that, even in a big city. If there is a Community College near where you live, and if they have a Culinary Arts Program, you could drop by and ask them or maybe give them a call and leave your number for them to get back to you.
I hope you’re not using “decorative copper.” It is not for cookiing, but only for decor purposes. The cookware type of copper is lined with a metal that is not copper.
